Overview

Autism therapy and services in Argyle

A pediatric therapy clinic in Argyle serving the northwest DFW suburbs since 2019, Play On Words offers speech, language, feeding, OT, and orofacial myofunctional therapy for children from birth through age 21. Six master's-level therapists — five SLPs and one OT — work out of a single center-based location at 7861 Tudor Ln. The practice is in-network with BCBS, United Healthcare, and UMR, and will provide super bills for out-of-network plans.

Best for

Families in Northlake, Argyle, Lantana, Flower Mound, and nearby Denton County communities whose children need speech, AAC, feeding, or sensory/OT support — including kids with autism, apraxia, Gestalt Language Processing profiles, or sensory processing differences.

Their approach

Every plan is built around what makes that particular child tick — their interests, their family's routines, their sensory and communication profile — so therapy feels more like structured play than clinical work. Parent education is woven into evaluations and sessions so skills transfer into everyday life rather than staying within the clinic walls.

What to expect

Parents can start with a free 10–15 minute screening by a master's-level SLP to gauge whether a full evaluation makes sense; if needed, the initial evaluation is thorough, including standardized testing, informal language sampling, and a collaborative debrief with the family. The clinic runs Monday–Thursday 8 AM–5:30 PM and Friday mornings.
