Speech Therapy for autism in Austin

The clinic opened in 2021 under speech-language pathologist and BCBA Emily Iverson, and now includes a second longtime SLP on staff. Sessions run the gamut from infants working on feeding to older kids and adults building better tongue posture and breathing patterns, all out of the Menchaca Road office.

A good fit for kids with speech sound errors, late talking, or feeding struggles, including language delays that show up alongside autism, as well as anyone, child or adult, dealing with mouth breathing, tongue thrust, or a tongue-tie history that myofunctional work addresses.
Their approach
Rather than treating symptoms in isolation, the clinicians look for the underlying cause, often tongue posture, airway function, or oral muscle coordination, and pair that with standard speech-language techniques. Parent coaching and take-home exercises are built into every plan to keep progress moving between visits.
What to expect
Expect an initial evaluation that looks at speech, feeding, and breathing together before a personalized plan is mapped out. Everything here, including feeding therapy, gets billed under the speech-therapy code; the practice is in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas and can bill Tricare West directly, but Medicaid isn't accepted.
