Overview
Parents come to this Austin nonprofit when they want one team looking at the whole picture: cognition, medical health, and nutrition, rather than separate specialists working in isolation. A licensed psychologist runs the ADOS and ADI-R testing used to diagnose autism spectrum and related developmental conditions, while a medical team follows up on the GI, immune, and metabolic issues that often go along with it. The center also keeps an active research arm studying autism, drawing referrals from well beyond Central Texas.
A good fit for families who want a full developmental workup, testing plus a look at underlying health and nutrition, instead of a diagnosis-only visit.
Every new case goes through an intake screening call before the Clinical Care team decides which mix of psychology, medicine, nutrition, ABA-based therapy, and family counseling the child needs.
Plan on about a half-hour intake conversation up front; after that, staff sort out which clinicians to schedule and lay out costs, which flex by service and can be offset by the center's own grants and scholarships for qualifying families.
