Overview

Autism Diagnosis & Assessment in Houston

A boutique Houston private practice centered on one double board-certified Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrician, The Whole Child DBP focuses on thorough diagnostic evaluations and long-term follow-up for children from birth through age 18. Conditions covered span autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, intellectual disability, learning disabilities, speech and language disorders, and more. Because the practice is entirely out-of-network, families receive detailed superbills to submit for potential insurance reimbursement.

Best for

Parents who want an in-depth, private-pay evaluation by a fellowship-trained developmental pediatrician — especially for autism, ADHD, or developmental delay across any age from newborn to 18.

Their approach

Each evaluation draws on standardized developmental testing, thorough parent history, and direct observation across social-emotional, cognitive, communication, motor, and adaptive domains. Add-on services include RUBI parent training, DTTC-based support for childhood apraxia of speech, and collaboration with SOS Approach feeding specialists, with an emphasis on coordinating findings with the child's school and medical teams.

What to expect

The evaluation unfolds in two 90-minute sessions: Part 1 (parent history, available in-person or via telehealth) and Part 2 (direct child evaluation, in-person only at the Galleria/Post Oak office). A $50 non-refundable deposit is collected at intake; total fees run from $750 for children under 3 to $1,350 for ages 12–18, with FASD evaluations carrying an additional $500 fee.
