Overview

Autism Diagnosis & Assessment in Tomball

Tucked into north Houston's Tomball and Cypress corridors, Sulcata Psychiatry was built from the ground up by a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner and a licensed clinical social worker — two clinicians who wanted evaluation and ongoing care under one roof. The practice covers medication management, psychotherapy, pharmacogenetic testing, vitamin replacement, and both ADHD and autism-spectrum evaluations using the ADOS-2. Children as young as 3 can be seen for evaluations; most other services open at age 6.

Best for

North Houston families who want one practice to handle autism or ADHD testing and then stay on for medication management or therapy — without bouncing between separate offices — for children and adolescents 6 and up.

Their approach

Rather than treating a prescription as the endpoint, the team layers in therapy, dietary guidance, and ancillary interventions alongside any medication, drawing patients and families into the planning conversation at every step.

What to expect

ADHD medication management requires a completed ADHD evaluation at least 24 hours before the first intake visit; autism and academic testing runs a minimum three hours in person, with a full written report back in four to six weeks. Bookings are available online or by phone, and telehealth covers medication management and therapy sessions.

Yes — Sulcata Psychiatry provides a formal written evaluation report for your child's school and care team. That documentation can support IEP or 504 requests at school.

What ages does Sulcata Psychiatry serve?
